I’m a California girl at heart, but there’s something about the energy of New York City in early spring that I love. A few weeks ago I was in New York for the Tribeca Film Festival, where I was a judge in the Best New Narrative Director category. I saw so many great films, and was honored that I was selected to help pick a winner.
I left NYC with some new inspiration for my blog. When it comes to fashion, I love to be cool, casual and laid-back, but like any girl, I also love to get dressed up, whether it’s for a night out with friends or a movie premiere. Major red carpet events like the Met Gala can be intimidating. You know that your picture is going to be all over the web the next morning, so when it comes to trying on clothes or experimenting with hair and makeup, the task of deciding what to wear and how to look can be very challenging.
Here’s a little tip I’ve learned: When it comes to big events, whether it’s a formal party or a special occasion, pick a look that makes you feel comfortable and confident. Confidence is the key to looking and feeling great on the red carpet for me.
Here are some of my favorite picks for spring. Try these out on your very own “red carpet” night. Tell me what you think in the comments section.

P.S. Check back in a few weeks for another behind the scenes interview video from the Cotton shoot where I talk more about red carpet style.

me encanta los tres diseños, pero en mi propia alfombra roja me pondría el Rachel Zoe precioso diseño.
I think you look amazing in all of your shots. You are a classically beautiful women and I wish there were more like you. Good luck in the future and I hope you have a long and prosperous career.
